2004 -2024 CHAMONIX MONT BLANC
2004 -2024 CHAMONIX MONT BLANC.
It was an anniversary for me this summer in the Alps (20 years), enriching my experiences with new peaks and activities.
My first visit to Chamonix was in August 1988 with the experience of successfully climbing Mont Blanc 4,807m together with Giorgos Antonakakis who were the first Cretans to climb this monastic mountain
(there was no GPS and neither was the information that exists now).
With great gratitude to the encouragement given to me by Antonis Plymakis and Josef who introduced me to the Winter Mountain, Alpine Skiing and Climbing.
Inspired by the idea of the anniversary of my stay in Chamonix (20 years) with the support of my son Giorgos Stavroulakis and my friend Lina Gortnienko I thought of trying new climbing possibilities by climbing different peaks.
Warm thanks to Kyriakos Rossidis (on the occasion of our acquaintance in 2016) who willingly and happily accepted my plan and who contributed a lot in guiding me to my big plan!
The world is full of mysteries and adventure that fascinate people. Undoubtedly one of the mysterious places in the world is the Alps with its famous mountain system. Thousands of tourists from different regions of the world gather in these places every year. Some come to test their abilities in various activities (climbing, running, hiking, cycling and more), some to see with their own eyes what they have seen through so many movies and books that have been written. Some to find their mental balance. One thing we can say for sure: this place magically attracts adventure lovers.

Then, for the second time, I was given the opportunity in July 2004 before the Olympic Games in our country. As part of the Alpinist center organized by EOS Athens, I was in the Alps with my mentor in Alpinism and very close friend, Vangelis Vroutsis as his assistant. The knowledge and tactics I acquired from him until 2009 (with his unjust death in that year) were a great gift for me! Since then, a special relationship and love for the Alps was created, where every year until today 2024 I sought new experiences, knowledge and experiences.
